Berowra’s Bicentennial Parade

UC_01_01

Were you in Berowra at the time of our Bicentennial Street Parade?

The Fleming family were and we thank them for these images of local history, from their photo collection.

The Uniting Church float and its enthusiastic supporters are seen above. They are braving the wet weather as they celebrate the many and varied services of their church to the community at large.

Our second image shows Richard Fleming, who was MC for the parade, taking shelter with his P-A system under the awning of what was the old AMPOL Service Station.

Can you make out a segment of the building which has served Berowra in many guises and is now Berowra Homebiz? Perhaps you can read the partially obscured sign to Berowra Waters!

Does anyone have more images of this 1988 parade or other parades in Berowra?
