The photo above shows one of Berowra’s many tennis courts which were a popular source of sporting entertainment for Berowra residents. The first courts to be built stood approximately where the skate park stands today, while other popular courts were apparently to be found further along Berowra Waters Road and on Goodwyn Road. Once, there were also tennis courts at the rear of the site now occupied by the Uniting Church, which are thought to be the courts in this picture. On the left Rex Jones is shown, holding a pole, in the middle Frank Pontey is pictured and on the right is Guy Thompson. The group appear to be assembling the tennis net. It is unfortunately not known who the little boy is – if you know his identity we would love to hear from you.
